widening the space

Several different experiences as PaB continues:
that slight disorientation which comes as the edges of ‘who I am’ seem to loosen a bit
the tension which comes as old ways of working at first seem to come into question…
until there then is the realization that widening the space allows those ‘ways of working’ if held in respect, may be only enhanced by being held more softly. More capacity to Be in these ways is accessible.

The storm of sensory experience

Sensory experience can flood the mind but preclude reflective thought.  And when meaning is allowed to accrue, that is the sensory metabolized by reflection into food for thought, a tension may result: between the ongoing flood of the sensory (which can only be shed or borne ) and the accruing meaning (which invites being held). Discernment is needed to detect this tension and to bear it, to allow different experiences, different realities in the moment without degradation of either. Such occurred in playasbeing for me yesterday, April 24, between me and the group, save for the supportive comments of one member, support which was vital for my stability at the moment. Further gestation of the experience may highlight more nuance re the interface between realities…

 

PaB reflections

Realizing that a couple of previous postings wound up as responses to friends’ comments rather than new postings I am discovering again (usually once a day) the importance of slowing down and taking time.  Thinking also of the warmth and community in PaB which really offers a quality of accompaniment which I have not been used to previously.  In fact, discovering a patience with the new, whereas an older aspect of self would be impatient for ‘the serious stuff’…how interesting if new discoveries, new explorations in reality really at base revolve around friendly openness. 

  At first that seems new, but then not at all, because I am so aware of the existence of that ‘gotta be serious to be grown up…to be taken seriously…’ aspect of myself and I think others.

It may be the thrill and newness of this medium but ’tis so nice to get a welcoming response to my first posting which helps to settle that previously described doubt and to create inwardly that longed-for friendly universe for conversation.

initiations

Taking the step to setup a blog feels both energizing and a bit scary.  As a place to share learnings it feels meaningful and there are several valuing friends already re those learnings. But then there is that doubt, seemingly always just over one’s shoulder, which suggests such learnings are just over-exposures of incidental inner meanderings. Keeping that balance between valued shared learning and the benefits/erosions of doubt may be one of the personal challenges for me.
