Appreciating Emergence
Reminiscent of a much more mundane version of Michelangelo’s slaves wrestling their forms from the rough granite surface, the following lines wrested themselves from my somewhat weary mind: “Appreciation Emergence”
Separating us from our shadows in a tidal to and fro,/Emergence allows us to think about rather than to be surrounded and thus defined by those shades./Not something that can be rushed or hurried,/Emergence occurs in its own way/According to a pace that is outside our sphere of conscious influence./ Perhaps Emergence involves another dimension of Being.
